It’s Foodgasm Friday and after last week’s Hostel Cooked Food we are back onto cultural stuff with a dish I tried in my visit to Lima Peru Anticuchos.
Anticuchos are a popular dish that originated from Peru consisting of various small pieces of small grilled skewered meat. The meat is marinated in various spices or vinegar. While the meat can be any type the most popular and famous is beef heart (Anticuchos de corazon) which is what I tried in Lima, It came served with potato and Choclo (Peruvian corn with oversized kernals) and various dipping sauces.
It was really delicious, the way the meat was marinated really brought out the flavor and the beef heart was delicious. I would highly reccomend everyone to give anticucho beef heart a try when they are in Peru.
Have you ever tried Anticuchos and do you think if you eat something’s heart you gain it’s courage? 😛
Yum, it looks really good!
