The Best Hostel booking website, I use this to search and book all of my hostels when backpacking around the world.
Finding Flights
SkyScanner

Expedia
Expedia is one of the biggest online travel companies. With lots of options to search for flights and hotels. I usually check them as well as SkyScanner when looking for budget flights.

Looking to extend your trip by volunteering in a hostel or farm. With lots of listings in many countries.Workaway is my favorite website for finding volunteer opportunities when travelling.

Similar to WorkAway, HelpX is another volunteer website great for finding placements in farms, hostels, B&B’s and anything in between.

My favorite travel insurance provider. I have used them on all of my trips in the last 6 years. from small weekend getaways, working holiday insurance, long backpacking adventures to most recently my 12 day trek through the Himalayas.
Lonely Planet
If you are looking for a guidebook then you can’t go wrong with Lonely Planet. I’ve often carried their on a shoestring books and language phrasebooks when backpacking.
